It's Me, Hi
It's Me, Hi
I am Sarah Klunk, owner and designer at Sarah's Floral Designs. My husband, Fred, and I grew up in the Carlisle Area.
We met at a wedding!! He was the best man and I was the maid of honor. I caught the bouquet. He caught the garter (back when they did such things). And the rest is history!!
We have two creative daughters who grew as my business grew. My daughter Lydia is now my assistant. My daughter Caroline is at Eckerd College in Florida. We have a sweet bunny, Benjamin, and a backyard coop full of chickens. We love to travel, hike and ski. I have always loved flowers and have lots of perennial gardens. I decided to take my passion for blooms and turn it into a business in 2009. I could never be surrounded by too many flowers! They bring me such joy and it's easy to get lost in their beauty.
I was trained as a floral designer at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. They offer one of the most respected floral design programs in the Northeast region.
I never, ever dreamed that my business would grow like it has. It has been an absolute joy to share my gifts with hundreds of couples on their wedding days. I cannot imagine doing anything else.

As a family, it is important to us that we reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible.
Therefore, I compost all leftover plant material.
I recycle or reuse all cardboard and plastic wrapping.
I deliver all of your wedding day flowers in containers that have been repurposed or upcycled.
Don't be surprised to find your boutonnieres and petals in repurposed plastic lettuce boxes or a bouquet in a pickle jar! I wish I had kept count of all the repurposed plastic boxes I have used over the years. It would be so satisfying to know how many LESS plastic boxes I contributed to landfills in this practice.
Another very important practice in sustainability is my effort to use as many LOCALLY GROWN flowers as possible. Not only is this a more sustainable option, but in the process it supports other women entrepreneurs in Central PA. I work closely with Lavender and Locks Flower Farm in Elizabethtown, Roots Flower Farm in Carlisle, Coldwater Flowers in Greencastle, Susie's Posies in Newburg and Crimson Clover Flower Farm in Newville. I hope to add more farms to my list this year.
Lastly, I have launched a sustainable option for weddings: Plant Rentals! You can enjoy their green beauty for your wedding day but nothing goes to waste. I deliver and retrieve them. They can be used as accent pieces, aisle and ceremony decor. Be sure to ask me about it when we chat.
